Tucked away in the beautiful Worcestershire Countryside, The Old Bull (known to many as The Bull at Ambridge from the Archers radio series) retains its sense of history and it's identity as a rural English Pub, where log fires, candles, wine, ale straight from the cask and good food combine to add to your welcome.
The pub is oozing with history. The building itself dates back to the 16th century and the interior has oak beams, flagstone floors and wonderful warming fires giving it a genuine traditional feel. There's lots of Archers memorabilia on the walls for fans including a selection of signed pictures by cast members of The Archers plus other bits and bobs.A huge 1930s-style inglenook fireplace, littered with brilliantly polished horse brasses, dominates the small flagstone-floor lounge.
The super brick built bar serves a selection of Ales and guest beers such as Fullers London Pride,Flowers Original and Wye Valley HPA all permanent features.
For those of you who enjoy a drink in the open, there are plenty of picnic tables out the front for you to enjoy your beer whilst breathing the fresh Worcestershire air.
A good selection of food is available at lunchtime as well as every evening except Sunday.
Food is served Tuesday to Saturday from 12-00 till 2.00pm and 6-30pm till 8-30pm. On Sunday come and enjoy a Traditional Sunday lunch which is served from 12-00 till 3-00pm, with a choice of meats and home made desserts.
All meals are home made, using fresh local produce where possible.
Owner and Chef Mike McCarthy and his staff welcome you to come and sample the delights of a traditional old fashioned country pub !
